We are proud to announce a new partnership with the Ballarat Football Umpire’s Association (BFUA), further solidifying Winterfield’s commitment to supporting local sports and community initiatives.
“We are thrilled to be a partner to the Ballarat Football Umpires Association,” said Paul Cicchiello, Goldfields’ National Director – Communities. “Supporting local sports aligns with our values of strengthening communities and promoting active lifestyles.”
“All of our master-planned communities incorporate green spaces to help ensure residents and their families can lead active lifestyles – our Winterfield estate boasts some 17,400sqm of parkland, including a 3,543sqm football oval.”
“Though its commitment to the development of umpires, the Ballarat Football Umpires Association plays a critical role in fostering grassroots football participation within the Ballarat region. We look forward to contributing to the growth and success of football umpiring in Ballarat over the next three years.”
The Ballarat Football Umpires Association, established in 1913, boasts over 400 umpires and covers games in the Ballarat Football League, Central Highlands Football League, and Maryborough Castlemaine Football Netball League. Their connection to communities across the region is long-standing and built on a genuine passion for community football.
“We are grateful to Goldfields for their generous sponsorship and share their commitment to promoting active lifestyles in support of strengthening community health and wellbeing,” said Billy Mitchell, Ballarat Football Umpires Association’s Head of Umpiring Operations.
“This partnership is a testament to Goldfields’ dedication to local community sports in Ballarat and will significantly enhance our ability to develop the next generation of football umpires.”
